Green Tea with a difference

Green Tea is generally a less processed variant among all the types of tea. It undergoes the minimal amount of oxidation during the processing and so is very good for human body. The history of green tea roots in China dated back to the time of great emperor of China Shennong, who was the inventor of agriculture and Chinese medicine. He accidently invented a cup of tea while he was drinking a hot bowl of water. Now a day green tea and other fusion tea with green tea are widely preferred along with other variants of tea across the world. The latest trend in green tea is the derivation of herbal tree from the green one, the fusion tea. Actually this variant of tea is not an appropriate herbal tea. It is a mixture of other drinkable food or floral items with tea. Though this trend of fusion tea is a new one in the market, it was there in the traditional tea items of almost all the Asian countries. From a cup of Indian black tea to a cup of Japanese tea, this mixing style is there in all traditional tea from a long time back. In India, the traditional spicy tea is prepared by adding cardamom, ginger, clove etc. to the black tea with milk. In China, Fuxilu tea is generally combined with apricots. Fuxilu is a lesser known green tea grown near Tianmen, China. LuYu one of the inventors of China’s modern traditional tea culture is from this same place, and his techniques are used in production of fuxilu as well. This fuxilu fusion with apricot is a great one and is easily available in all the stores of good repute across China. Just to name one good store of such repute is the Golden Tea House.

After Indian and Chinese tea, Japanese tea also has its own fusion version of green tea, namely Genmaicha. Genmaicha is also known as ‘Popcorn Tea’. Genmaicha, the Japanese tea of common people was originally preferred by the poor Japanese. This fusion Japanese tea is combined with roasted brown rice. The addition of rice serves as filler and generally costs less than the other types of tea. Genmaicha tea is also known as popcorn tea because of the popping sound that comes up from the rice grains during the roasting process. This tea is also known as ‘People’s Tea’ in Japan, since this Japanese tea is preferred by almost all of the Japanese people who consumed cheaper tea. Now Genmaicha is consumed by all the segments of Japanese society and is also famous in some nearing Asian countries. The tea that is being engrossed from these tea leaves comes with a pale yellow colour. The genmaicha tea has a fresh mild grassy flavor and this nice flavor is accompanied by the next solid aromatic flavor from the roasted brown rice. Genmaicha tea is now very common among all the Japanese people because of the aromatic flavor as well as the goodness of green tea it has. It is not a poor Japanese Tea anymore. It has acquired a world standard in tea industry.
