Tea or coffee, whatever the beverage you prefer, you choose it either to lift your mood or to compliment the host. But have you ever thought of the ingredients of tea while consuming a cup of black or white tea. Probably you never have. This is not an uncommon happening. Most of the people know that tea contains some stimulating elements, yet they don’t know the element. It is caffeine. People even do not consider the health factors attached to a cup of tea, whether it is a cup of black tea or white tea. Almost every type tea except those herbal and some read teas are produced from the Camellia Sinensis or its varieties. They differ by the amount of presence from one to another. White tea being plucked in early stages of leaves contains the tea buds young leaves. These tea buds and the young tea leave contain higher amount of caffeine than the older leaves. Due to this white tea has higher amount of caffeine than any other tea variety. Actually white tea is the uncured and unoxidized tea leaves, whereas oolong tea and black tea are oxidized before curing. White tea is not machine processed, they are left to dry under the sunlight.

White tea has its origin in China. Chinese region Fujian is specialized in white tea. A considerable amount of white tea used all over the world comes from this region alone. The cultivators in this region specialized in white tea use different types of tea for plucking. They are Da Bai the large white, Xiao Bai the small white, narcissus and Chaicha bushes. White tea in China is classified into different varieties as per the standards of picking and selection. Bai Hao Yinzhen is the top graded type of white tea available. Like all other types of white tea it also contains white hairy tiny particles on the surface of leaf and the leaf is always bright coloured. This best quality of white tea is picked in between mid March and mid April. This Yinzhen white tea is made of only the buds that are not open and are the freshest. Other varieties are Bai Mu Dan, Gong Mei, Shou Mei and the Puerh.

Having the higher amount of caffeine and antioxidants than any other tea variety, it has a higher demand in the market. Having a higher demand gives a higher price tag to it. Apart from that white tea is derived from tea buds and younger tea leaves and due to this reason they are lesser in amount than the rest of the tea varieties. Because of its medicinal qualities, use of white tea among the health conscious people is growing at high pace. The anti-aging and cancer preventing components are making white tea more popular in the field of health and beauty.
